The Corelli Festival was born from the idea of an educational project dedicated to the figure of Roman composer Arcangelo Corelli (1653-1713), which involved young people from all over Europe and international artists such as baroque violinist Amandine Beyer and baroque cellist Marco Ceccato. The Ensemble performed in Rome, on 6 October in San Gregorio al Celio, and is composed of young students and former students from the Italian conservatories, joined by students from the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. This project gave young Italian students the opportunity to work with their foreign peers and alongside great artists. The concert solos were played in rotation by all participants. The link above gives the opportunity to listen to excerpts of the final concert at the end of a three-day orchestral workshop (4-5-6 October 2024) that saw the students prepare two of Corelli’s 12 Concerti Grossi Op.6 plus the Sinfonia for the oratorio ‘Santa Beatrice d’Este’.
